{GUIDE} How to Install ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich) on Xperia™ Smartphones, Root and Downgrade to Gingerbread

This question is Assumed Answered.

Thread Created on 16 April 2012

This is Guide to install official ICS Rom on 2011 and 2012 Xperias

Flashing your mobile is at your own risk, flashing may void your warranty and SONY would be in no way responsible for any damage.

It is suggested to remove sim card and sd card as well as format sd card before installing ICS
Backup everything before proceeding if you wish. Alternatives on How to backup Xperias

Before Flashing: If you are on original firmware ( that came with mobile ) then dial *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer > service info > software info > take a screenshot and keep the screenshot safe for future use
Optional : if you wan't to backup your current fimrware then follow the first post below by 100rabh791

  7. Wait till the decrypting finishes , after it does, a list will appear on the left
  8. From Folder list, select all and move everything to the right
